the conditions are:
if the Project was created in Pro Trial 23.0.1 or 23.0.0 it can only be opened in 23.0.2 and 23.0.3 with the custom CGR - the customer CGR does not require it to be on the same PC but we don't tell users that.
if the Project was created in Pro Trial 23.0.2 or newer it can only be opened in 23.0.2 commercial and newer on the same PC (or with the custom CGR on any PC)

so, the cgr has an expiration date, may 14th i think. it's a failsafe sort of to prevent abuse
After 23.0.2, it wont be usable and we will be using solely the machine fingerprint

All sorted for current: -we convert the file/s
Marius is working on fixing some things about the lock
If they upgrade the Pro Trial key to a commercial key (how they know to do that I dont know) then it will apparently allow theme to open the trial themselves
Does not cover the other scenarios: upgrade not using Trial, get new key
We can convert here in Tech Supp: did once on 3090 Lumion SVN and send them the converted file (covers other issues of trying to keep the Trial key still active)
Problem is that usually an existing customer will want to upgrade their existing License Keys - for history etc etc than form a Trial Key

This might be OK IF the users has purchased commercial, all other cases however should not be allowed ie those using the Pro Trial as would have prev as a Trial
I was able to open the .LSF file and saved it in the Lumion Pro version for you. You should now be able to access it through the link provided below:
It is important to note that we have removed the Public Trial and now only offer the Pro Trial version, a limitation was added on purpose that only allows a Pro Trial file to be opened on the same machine as it was created on. Currently, there is no conversion at the moment available, there's no formal way of opening a file from a Trial into a Commercial Version.

re Pro Trial did we ever get to a final decision, I thought so from last week? there was discussion I put forward in TechSupp room, theres this one today
51250: tell him that we will convert the files for him on Thursday and put it on hold. you can tell him something like: currently, there is some internal maintenance taking place in our office that prevents us from accessing the conversion tool. however, we're more than happy to help him regain access to the files first thing Thursday
My understanding- we would extend the Trial that way they can finish in the Trial if they need to go back to it again say in 6 months time thats a problem but maybe by then Dev have got it fully sorted from the current lockout

If we do it on the basis of pure pragmatics until dev sort something, then at least the 3 of us need full access. Last week I tried but the test PC was down and its the only one that was setup for the correct SVN for that CGR to work and of course with the power issues Wednesday...

i promised to solve the SVN issue to be able to roll it back
and marius left on holiday
right now, the only correct SVN version is on my PC so i will take it upon myself to sort out the conversions
in 6 months it's a 'too late' situation
right now, until we get the correct parameters for the pro trial limitations, users should have the option to continue their work

OK little choice atm, its the right thing to do for the customer but we can, to expedite and keep things rolling at any time until there is a conversion simply Extended and tell them to use that until a Project is converted
